Tribal Dance
Trisis comprises Yemsara and Faery, close friends who love tribal bellydance.
We believe dance is about so many things – creativity, expression, connections, energy, spirituality and fun : )
We meet regularly in East Herts to dance together on an informal basis. If you live in our area and are interested in dancing with us then get in touch!
We use FCBD tribal vocabulary but also combine other elements of contemporary and tribal bellydance and fusion. Dance is mainly improvised although we also enjoy choreographies sometimes. Whatever we dance, it is interactive and enjoyable and often other dancers dance with us.
What is tribal style belly dance?
“While the beautiful classical Raqs Sharqi is still popular in the West, many dancers have created fusion forms such as American Tribal Style inspired by the folkloric dance styles of India, the Middle East and North Africa and even flamenco. Dancers in the United States, while respecting the origins of belly dance, are also exploring and creating within the dance form to address their own needs. Many women today in the U.S. and Europe approach belly dance as a tool for empowerment and strengthening of the body, mind, and spirit.”
